What is the Dark Magician Knight? How Yugi Moto Uses This combined with Sogen to Crush in a Joey Wheeler Warrior Duel Strategy!

If Yugi Moto where an archetype, magician would definitely be the one that comes to mind the most often. If Kaiba were an archetype, the king (I mean come on…Blue Eyes White Dragon is totally the king) is definitely what you would use to describe him, and if Joey Wheeler was an archetype, you’re looking at the warrior archetype hands down, just think about his warrior deck, swamp battleguard, the flamed swordsman, even the Red Eyes Black Dragon is something of a warrior dragon. If you want to really take this even further on, Tea Gardner is most definitely the lover archetype, and Tristan more or less is just a lost man that does not have an archetype.

Anyways though, on to the Dark Magician Knight, this card first appeared in one of the later seasons of Yugioh, and in hearing about this card, and in writing about it here on darkmagiciandragon.com, it brings me back to when I was a lot younger and when I was watching Yugioh on kids WB. I can distinctly hear Yugi Moto saying “Dark Magician Knight I summon you” in that deep, childish voice that he almost has.

To refresh what I had said previously in this blog post, actually this occurred during the “deck master” episodes, with Kaiba having the Blue Eyes White Dragon, Joey having the flamed swordsman, and Yugi having the Dark Magician…sounds like the magician, the warrior and the King Archetype to me. Anyway, what happens in this episode is that Yugi and Joey Wheeler are paired up together against an extremely powerful dragon monster, known as the Berserk Dragon, which is the deck master of 5 of Seto Kaiba’s evil business rivals who want to beat Yugioh in a card game. As the game progresses and gets towards the end, Yugi finds himself getting his behind kicked alongside Joey, that is until Joey fuses his Flamed Swordsman with Yugi’s dark magician in order to power up Dark Magician and turn it into Dark Magician Knight, a warrior, which allows the flamed swordsman to power up all warrior monsters on the field by 400 attack points! To finish it off, Yugi calls out in the episode “Dark Magician Knight Attack” like he does in every single episode, which ends the duel!

The Dark Magician Girl, and How She Became One of the Absolute Most Controversial (and Hot!) Yugioh cards in the show!

Not sure if you guys, my loyal Yugioh blog readers, know this yet or not, but the Dark Magician girl is actually heavily censored in Japan, in the Japanese version of the show Yugioh, in that she shows a little too much skin in certain versions of the cartoon, such as in the United States of America. There are images of the toon Dark Magician Girl, the Dark Magician and the Dark Magician girl that are heavily embedded within this blog post that will show you exactly what I am talking about, and I have also included a video that shows the sequences of the Dark Magician girl in the show Yugioh as well, however I thought I would still write about them for you just so you know what I am talking about in detail.

Why The Dark Magician Girl is Actually More Powerful than the Dark Magician Overall

Aside from the fact that she gains 300 attack points for each Dark Magician or Dark Magician similar card in the graveyard, much in the way that the Blue Eyes Shining Dragon gains 300 attack points for every monster in your graveyard (wonder who came up with the ideas for those cards😉) she also has some other special abilities. She can help to use a special trap card that equips here with a very powerful magic cannon, and she did this same thing with Slifer the Sky Dragon when she was playing against Marik Ishtar’s minion in an older episode of the series. Namely however, her main appearances have been alongside the Dark Magician when she used the Ragnarok spell card in order to wipe out the Powerful Egyptian God Card, the Winged Dragon of Ra, in a single blast! My overall favorite episode with her however was when she uses her most powerful and well known special ability, which is that she gains 300 attack points for every magician in her graveyard and in the graveyard, and uses it to take out Arcana’s life points, a rare hunter set up by Marik to crush Yugi Moto once and for all, in that she gains 300 attack points for both Arcana’s Dark Magician and Yugi Moto’s Dark Magician, one of my all time favorite episodes indeed involving the Dark Magician, video is included in the post!

The Dark Magic attack is actually the name that is used when the Dark Magician, Yugioh's iconic monster card, uses when attacking another monster. He has done this many times in the show, attacking great and powerful Monster cards like the Blue Eyes White Dragon, the Blue Eyes Shining Dragon, the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon many times, the Winged Dragon of Ra in one series, where Yugioh uses this with Ragnarok to destroy Marik once and for all!
